The Dispensary

The Dispensary offers a limited formulary of reduced cost medications to our patients who are uninsured or under-insured and are on the CICP, HPCHC or Migrant Discount Programs. We also fill prescriptions for patients covered by Colorado Medicaid. We accept prescriptions written by any High Plains Community Health Center provider including our Dental Center, Adult Health Center, Lamar Community College Campus Health Center, Pediatric, Holly and Wiley locations. If you cannot afford your medications, we have many resource options available for your assistance including the Compassionate Drug Program. Please have your complete medication list available when calling for assistance. Medication co-payments may be made with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.

Now accepting Medicaid
Dispensary services have been expanded to benefit our patients who are covered by Colorado Medicaid. Patients can conveniently see their provider and pick up prescriptions in one stop. Co-pays will be the same as a retail pharmacy.

We offer Free True Result Glucometers and low cost diabetes supplies.

Safeguarding of medications:
Sharing your prescriptions with others is against the law
Don't openly discuss your medications with others
Keep medications in a safe, locked place (not in medicine/kitchen cabinets)
Treat prescription drugs as you would cash or credit cards
Many medications have a high street value and are often stolen from homes or vehicles
Some over-the-counter medications (i.e., pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan) have the potential for abuse and should be secured

A-L-L Program

If you are between the ages of 55 and 75 and have diabetes, it is recommended that you take three medications to decrease your risk of heart attack or stroke. These three medications together are referred to as A-L-L Therapy. The medications included in this program are available for free or at a reduced rate at our Dispensary, if you meet the program guidelines. For more information, questions about these or other medications, or to register for this program, please call 719-336-0261 to schedule an appointment with your provider.
